Definium Therapeutics Sharply Higher After Second Phase 3 GAD Success for DT120 ODT (DFTX)

Definium Therapeutics (DFTX) is sharply higher after announcing topline results from its Phase 3 Panorama study of DT120 ODT in generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). The late-stage biopharma company develops therapies for psychiatric and neurological disorders and said Panorama met its primary endpoint and all key secondary endpoints. Notably, Panorama marks the second positive Phase 3 study of DT120 ODT in GAD and the third positive Phase 3 readout for the drug overall.

  • DT120 ODT: DT120 ODT is DFTX's proprietary, pharmaceutically optimized formulation of lysergide (LSD), delivered as an orally disintegrating tablet. The drug is being developed for GAD, major depressive disorder (MDD) and posttraumatic stress disorder. DT120 has received FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation for both GAD and MDD.
  • Context: Today's results add to a string of positive late-stage readouts for DT120. In June, shares surged after the Phase 3 Emerge study in MDD met its primary and all key secondary endpoints. Definium followed in August with positive results from Voyage, its first Phase 3 study of DT120 in GAD. Panorama now provides a second positive pivotal GAD study.
  • Panorama: The study showed a meaningful improvement in anxiety symptoms, meeting its primary endpoint and all key secondary endpoints. Patients receiving DT120 saw a 5.1-point greater improvement versus placebo, with benefits emerging as early as Day 2 and sustained through Week 12. DT120 was also generally well tolerated, with no new safety signals or serious adverse events.
  • Potential benefit: A notable aspect of DT120 is its single-dose treatment approach compared with daily medications commonly used for GAD. That could offer a simpler option for patients who may struggle with the burden or side effects of existing daily therapies.
  • Next steps: Definium said positive results across four complementary studies have built a body of evidence that increases its confidence in the potential best-in-class profile of DT120. The company is now advancing toward an NDA submission, with a pre-NDA meeting scheduled for Q4 2026 and an NDA filing anticipated in 1H27.

Panorama further demonstrates the potential best-in-class profile of DT120, providing a second positive pivotal Phase 3 study in GAD following Voyage. Combined with the earlier positive Emerge results in MDD, Definium has now delivered a consistent string of positive late-stage readouts across multiple indications. The single-dose profile could also differentiate DT120 from daily medications commonly used for GAD, particularly given the durable benefit demonstrated through Week 12. With two positive pivotal GAD studies now in hand, DFTX is preparing for a pre-NDA meeting in Q4 and planned filing in 1H27. Regulatory approval remains a hurdle and is not guaranteed, though today's results mark another important step in advancing the program.
