[BRIEFING.COM] With about two hours to go on Friday afternoon the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (-0.49%) is the "best" performing major average, down about 131 points.
Gold futures settled $63.30 higher (-1.4%) at $4,476.60/oz, down then about -1.2% on the week, following a stronger-than-expected August jobs report, which boosted Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar while raising expectations for a potentially more hawkish Federal Reserve.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is up about +0.2% to $99.16.
