[BRIEFING.COM] The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (+0.43%) is in first place on Tuesday afternoon, up about 117 points.
Gold futures settled $7.50 lower (-0.2%) at $4,376.40/oz, as a more hawkish Fed outlook, higher Treasury yields and a firmer dollar pressured the non-yielding metal. Easing Middle East supply concerns also reduced some safe-haven demand, adding to the pressure on gold.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is up about +0.2% to $100.60.
