[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.3%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.2%), and DJIA (-0.7%) are moving to session lows following a surge in oil prices.
Reports indicate that Houthi forces have claimed an attack on a Saudi-flagged tanker in the Red Sea, sending oil prices to session highs. WTI Crude oil is now up $2.40 (+3.2%) to $77.62 per barrel.
The energy sector (+1.5%) is now the only S&P 500 sector that remains in positive territory.
