Gold Slips on Profit-Taking Ahead of Friday's Jobs Report
Dow -430.55 at 53918.57, Nasdaq -18.70 at 26365.76, S&P -15.59 at 7707.96

[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite (-0.07%) is in "first" place on Thursday afternoon, down about 19 points, as more aggressive losses are being had elsewhere.

Gold futures settled $5.60 lower (-0.1%) at $4,299.60/oz, as investors took profits following Wednesday's sharp rally and awaited Friday's U.S. jobs report for further clues on the Federal Reserve's interest rate path. Despite the modest decline, a weaker U.S. dollar and lower Treasury yields continued to provide support for gold prices.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is up almost +0.3% to $99.95.
