Meanwhile, the energy sector (-1.5%) is approaching its opening lows despite oil prices staying in a steady range throughout the afternoon to settle today's session $4.21 lower (-5.0%) at $80.36 per barrel.
Exxon Mobil (XOM 154.42, -1.02, -0.66%) and Chevron (CVX 192.88, -3.95, -2.01%) are both moving lower after President Trump said the companies are making too much money and oil companies should cut the retail price of gasoline.
