Gold Settles Lower as Easing Geopolitical Tensions Pressure Prices
Dow +612.22 at 53097.25, Nasdaq +553.33 at 25948.20, S&P +111.25 at 7600.97

[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite (+2.18%) is in first place on Monday afternoon, up about 553 points.

Gold futures settled $16.50 lower (-0.4%) at $4,090.50/oz, as easing safe-haven demand, following lower oil prices and reduced fears of an immediate U.S. military strike on Iran, outweighed lingering geopolitical uncertainty. Higher-for-longer Federal Reserve rate expectations also pressured the metal, as investors looked ahead to key U.S. labor market data this week.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is up less than +0.1% to $100.00.
