[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite (+0.49%) is in first place on Tuesday afternoon, up about 128 points.

Gold futures settled $3.30 lower (-0.1%) at $4,694.50/oz, as investors took some profits following the recent rally, while a firmer U.S. dollar weighed on prices. The market is also looking ahead to U.S. inflation data and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole remarks, while concerns over U.S. fiscal policy and expectations for easier Fed policy continue to support gold.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is down less than -0.01% to $98.92.
