U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CNBC that a trade deal with Canada fell through because Canada "wanted more" on heavy-duty trucks. Greer added that U.S. trade policy is proceeding as planned and noted that the dispute affects only about 5% of imports from Canada.
Steel stocks such as Nucor (NUE 253.57, +9.94, +4.1%) have moved firmly higher since the talks collapsed.
