[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.4%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.3%), and DJIA (-0.5%) sit at session lows as oil prices surge to their highest levels of the session. WTI crude is currently up $1.87 (+2.3%) to $84.27 per barrel.
Oil climbed roughly 5% last week as tensions between the U.S, and Iran continue to escalate. President Trump threatened to bomb Oman if "it gets in the way" of any U.S. measures to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
