Participation in the broader market is at its best levels of the session, with eight S&P 500 sectors in positive territory. However, the gains are largely modest in nature and have had little effect at the index level.
Stocks have enjoyed a session devoid of geopolitical or oil-driven swings, with crude oil futures settling today's session $0.09 higher (+0.1%) at $83.26 per barrel.
