[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.3%), and DJIA (-0.3%) remain modestly lower as the market enters the final hour of the session.
The price of oil has continued to rise throughout the session, narrowing much of the broader market's strength, though the energy sector (+4.5%) boasts an impressive gain.
Crude oil futures settled today's session $3.98 higher (+5.1%) at $82.17 per barrel. Treasury yields are around five basis points higher across the curve, weighing on rate-sensitive pockets of the market including homebuilder stocks. The iShares U.S. Home Construction ETF is down 2.8%.
