[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are now higher across the board as losses begin to narrow across semiconductor names while participation remains strong in the broader market.
The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (+0.1%) has also moved above its flat line, with Alphabet (GOOG 333.00, +6.43, +1.97%) adding to yesterday's rebound from last week's post-earnings slide. TSLA is also stabilizing after an even steeper retreat.
Elsewhere on the earnings front, Sherwin-Williams (SHW 354.50, +27.23, +8.32%) is one of the best-performing S&P 500 and DJIA components after an impressive quarter, which reinforces its ability to outperform even in a sluggish demand environment. While management noted there has been no meaningful improvement in global end-market demand, the company still exceeded expectations by taking market share through new account wins, increased customer spending, and continued investments.
