Dow rallies 650+ points as Sherwin-Williams, Salesforce, IBM jump; Caterpillar lags

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+1.25%) is firmly in front, higher by more than 650 points.

A look inside the DJIA shows that Sherwin-Williams (SHW 356.18, +28.91, +8.83%), Salesforce (CRM 183.38, +9.78, +5.63%), and IBM (IBM 228.16, +11.88, +5.49%) enjoy outsized gains.

Meanwhile, Caterpillar (CAT 837.11, -36.17, -4.14%) is firmly lower this afternoon.

The DJIA is now +1.04% higher month-to-date.

Elsewhere, U.S. Treasuries hover just below their highs that were reached during the past 30 minutes. The market has held steady in immediate reaction to today's $44 bln 7-yr note offering, which met soft demand. The sale drew a high yield of 4.473%, which tailed the when-issued yield by two tenths of a basis point while the bid-to-cover ratio (2.49x) was a touch below average (2.50x). Indirect takedown (70.1%), however, was above average (63.7%).
