Coca-Cola higher ahead of earnings
Dow +258.36 at 52205.61, Nasdaq +0.49 at 24997.32, S&P +7.96 at 7419.94

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (flat), and DJIA (+0.5%) once again have a positive tilt with just half an hour left in the session.

Investors have a sizable batch of earnings reports to asses after the close and tomorrow morning, including several S&P 500 components.

Coca-Cola (KO 83.92, +1.67, +2.03%) enters Henrique Braun's first full quarter as CEO with strong momentum after Q1 delivered improving volumes, continued share gains, and margin expansion. That performance provided an encouraging read on the company's consumer-led strategy, but it also raised expectations. The main focus in Q2 will be whether the improvement in unit-case volume can continue, particularly in North America, where growth accelerated sharply last quarter. Asia Pacific will also be important after strong volume growth came alongside weaker mix and profitability. Margin durability remains another consideration as KO balances affordability initiatives and increased marketing investment against higher input costs. Continued volume growth, healthy regional trends, and confidence in its FY26 outlook would reinforce that KO's consumer-led strategy is supporting more balanced and sustainable growth.

The stock holds a solid gain today, helping the consumer staples sector (+1.8%) outperform.
