Consumer staples sector lags
Dow +45.53 at 52270.17, Nasdaq -109.17 at 25749.04, S&P -8.70 at 7500.50

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages remain little changed from previous levels.

The consumer discretionary sector (-0.8%) is the worst-performing S&P 500 sector this morning, facing pressure as another bump in oil prices sends Treasury yields higher again today. Carvana (CVNA 63.28, -2.30, -3.51%), which is highly sensitive to interest rates, is among the sector's laggards, while several of the sector's largest apparel names, including NIKE (NKE 41.80, -1.16, -2.71%) and lululemon athletica (LULU 113.17, -3.46, -2.97%), also trade lower amid growing concerns that rising inflation could weigh on consumer spending.
