[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-1.8%), Nasdaq Composite (-2.9%), and DJIA (-0.6%) now trade in a relatively stable range near session lows.
While tech stocks and select cyclical pockets of the market have largely reversed their earlier gains, the real estate sector (+2.0%) sits firmly atop the sector leaderboard. The group is up just over 10% year-to-date, with much of those gains concentrated in Q2, compared to a 6.5% rise in the S&P 500 since the end of 2025. With a 12-month trailing dividend yield of roughly 3.7%, the sector has also offered investors a more defensive, income-oriented alternative within equities, typically characterized by lower volatility.
