Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.5%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.9%), and DJIA (-0.4%) are little changed from previous levels as the market enters the final hour of the session.

Sector strength remains split, with six S&P 500 sectors trading higher and the top-weighted information technology sector (+1.6%) leading the advance.

Outside of the S&P 500, several prominent names trade lower today. BP (BP 42.51, -1.85, -4.17%) moves lower in conjunction with oil prices and news that the Board unanimously decided that Albert Manifold should no longer serve as Chair and Director with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Ferrari (RACE 331.10, -17.14, -4.92%) lags after unveiling its first fully electric vehicle.
