[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.8%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%), and DJIA (-1.8%) have seen a modest improvement from their session lows following a recent wave of headlines related to the oil trade.
Reuters reported that China is in talks with Iran to allow safe passage of oil and natural gas tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. The Treasury is also expected to announce measures today to mitigate the rise in energy prices.
Separately, Reuters reported that BP staff were evacuated from an oilfield in Iran as drones landed in the field.
