Tech trades lower ahead of NVIDIA GTC conference
Dow -7.01 at 46669.73, Nasdaq -165.84 at 22146.15, S&P -22.42 at 6652.19

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.3%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.7%), and DJIA (flat) continue to sit mostly lower as this week's action enters its final hour. 

Oracle (ORCL 155.17, -3.99, -2.51%) is giving back some of this week's strength after the stock surged nearly 10% on Wednesday following its earnings report.

Elsewhere in the information technology sector (-1.1%), memory storage names such as Sandisk (SNDK 664.08, +45.26, +7.31%) and Western Digital (WDC 276.78, +15.60, +5.97%) are among some of the best-performing S&P 500 components. 

Weakness in several large chipmakers, such as NVIDIA (NVDA 180.74, -2.42, -1.32%) and Broadcom (AVGO 323.70, -12.27, -3.65%), keeps the PHLX Semiconductor Index (+0.1%) near its flatline. NVIDIA's annual GTC conference commences next week, with CEO Jensen Huang set to deliver his keynote address on Thursday.
