[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue to oscillate around their flat lines shortly after midday. 

CNBC reports that Netflix (NFLX 76.48, -0.39, -0.51%) has granted Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD 28.91, +0.92, +3.29%) a seven-day waiver to reopen potential deal talks with Paramount Skydance (PSKY 10.98, +0.66, +6.40%), which trades sharply higher today. 

The stock is one of the best-performing S&P 500 names today, though weakness in Alphabet (GOOG 301.82, -4.20, -1.37%) keeps the communication services sector (-0.7%) firmly lower.
