Industrials sector sharply lower
Dow -540.24 at 50980.95, Nasdaq -183.83 at 27437.00, S&P -42.65 at 7776.38

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.6%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.7%), and DJIA (-1.1%) are little changed from their opening lows.

The industrials sector (-2.0%) is seeing some of the market's sharpest losses this morning as rising Treasury yields coincide with profit-taking across several recent winners tied to the AI-infrastructure buildout. Caterpillar (CAT 817.90, -45.54, -5.27%) is the worst-performing DJIA component and among the weakest stocks in the S&P 500, while other industrial names with significant AI-infrastructure exposure, including Comfort Systems (FIX 1708.59, -109.37, -6.02%) and Vertiv (VRT 239.97, -13.17, -5.20%), are also firmly lower. The weakness suggests the renewed rise in yields is putting valuation pressure on some of the group's recent leaders following their strong runs. While Caterpillar is nearly 24% below its June 30 all-time high, the stock is still up nearly 43% year-to-date.
