[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages remain mixed as they continue to trade in a relatively stable range just after midday.
With the information technology sector (-1.2%) recovering from earlier lows, the energy sector (-1.4%) is now the worst-performing S&P 500 sector, giving back some of this week's previous strength despite a relatively sharp rise in oil prices today. Crude oil is currently up $3.18 (+3.3%) to $98.28 per barrel.
