[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.2%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.2%), and DJIA (flat) have settled into a relatively stable range this afternoon.
Participation has improved significantly from earlier in the session when the energy (+1.9%) and information technology (+0.8%) sectors were the only S&P 500 sectors in positive territory, as five sectors now hold gains.
Advancers outpace decliners by a roughly 7-to-6 ratio on the Nasdaq, while decliners still hold an 11-to-10 edge on the Nasdaq. Decliners had previously outpaced advancers by a nearly 2-to-1 clip on both exchanges at session lows.
