The stock market is on track for a mixed opening as the S&P 500 and DJIA look to expand further into record territory. 

Chipmakers are pulling back in the premarket after yesterday's sharp rally, though the major averages are looking resilient and poised to open near their baselines. 

Several of Monday's outperformers in the energy sector hold solid premarket gains this morning after CNBC reported that Venezuelan oil will be "given" to the U.S., and the U.S. will sell the sanctioned oil, with the proceeds put in American banks and to be disbursed to Venezuela once things stabilize in the country. Additionally, U.S. sanctions against Venezuela will be rolled back as part of this process, which will effectively reduce the amount of oil China receives.
