[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.5%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%), and DJIA (-0.6%) continue to trade modestly lower across the board.
The consumer discretionary sector (+0.4%) now holds a solid gain, while every other sector trades lower.
Tesla (TSLA 432.71, +16.15, +3.88%) continues to widen its gain, effectively negating yesterday's retreat in reaction to the company's earnings report. Amazon (AMZN 242.82, +1.09, +0.45%) also ticks modestly higher after lagging yesterday. Solid leadership across the sector's mega-cap components helps offset weakness in a majority of its other holdings.
Deckers Outdoor (DECK 114.63, +14.73, +14.74%) is the top-performing stock in the sector and the S&P 500 for that matter. The company easily topped earnings estimates and guided FY26 EPS and revenues above consensus. Additionally, the stock was upgraded to Outperform from Neutral at KGI Securities, with a target of $129.
Elsewhere in the sector, Royal Caribbean (RCL 325.98, -20.00, -5.78%) moves lower after yesterday's double-digit gain that followed the company's earnings report.
