[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages remain lower with just half an hour left in today's session.
Despite some pockets of strength in the broader market, a 1.4% slide in the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF following Microsoft's (MSFT 426.31, -55.32, -11.49%) earnings has so far proven to be too much to overcome.
The mega-cap group will get a shot at redemption after the close today with Apple's (AAPL 258.34, +1.90, +0.74%) earnings release. The focus of the quarter will be the holiday demand for the iPhone 17. The company will likely be asked about a new AI-powered Siri rollout, expected this summer. In addition, tariff costs will be of interest.
