[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.1%), and DJIA (flat) now sit mostly lower at midday as several of the market's weightiest components have taken a turn lower.

The consumer discretionary sector (-0.5%) is now among the worst-performing S&P 500 sectors today as Amazon (AMZN 242.00, -2.68, -1.10%) widens its loss. Tesla (TSLA 433.68, +2.78, +0.65%) is showing resilience ahead of its earnings report after the close.

The Vanguard Mega Cap ETF is now down 0.5%, reversing its earlier gain.
