Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (flat), Nasdaq Composite (+0.3%), and DJIA (-0.1%) remain little changed from previous values as today's FOMC meeting and Fed Chair Powell's subsequent press conference have yet to deliver any surprises. Eight S&P 500 sectors trade lower, but a strong showing from the top-weighted information technology sector (+0.7%) keeps things stable at the index level. 

Mr. Powell noted that the committee saw broad support for holding rates steady today, including among non-voters, remarking that the Fed is well positioned to make decisions on a meeting-by-meeting basis.
