Oil prices move lower after President Trump's commentary
Dow -50.97 at 49140.81, Nasdaq -243.47 at 23466.43, S&P -38.19 at 6925.54

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.6%), Nasdaq Composite (-1.1%), and DJIA (-0.1%) sit modestly improved from session lows with half an hour left in today's session. 

Crude oil futures settled today's session $0.71 higher (+1.2%) at $61.88 per barrel, helping the energy sector (+2.4%) remain at the top of today's standings. However, prices have retreated in post-settlement trading after President Trump said at a White House event that he has been told Iran is stopping the execution of protestors. The price of oil is currently down $0.94 (-1.5%) to $59.99 per barrel.
