Dow slides 235 points but outperforms as tech weighs, Chevron gains lift index relative to peers

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.48%) is down 235 points, but in "first" place among the major averages, as more aggressive losses are being had elsewhere.
A look inside the DJIA shows that Amazon (AMZN 237.00, -5.60, -2.31%), NVIDIA (NVDA 181.86, -3.95, -2.13%), and Cisco (CSCO 74.12, -1.35, -1.79%) are underperforming.
Meanwhile, Chevron (CVX 167.62, +3.75, +2.29%) holds decent gains.
The DJIA is now -1.11% lower week-to-date.
