New additions to S&P 500
Dow +41.01 at 45441.87, Nasdaq +171.14 at 21871.53, S&P +22.76 at 6504.26

[BRIEFING.COM] The DJIA (+0.1%) has seen modest improvement and now trades above its flatline, while the S&P 500 (+0.4%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.8%) hold on to their opening gains. 

Several new names will be added to the S&P later this month, with the announcement triggering some notable price moves. 

Shares of the digital brokerage Robinhood Markets (HOOD 116.10, +14.85, +14.67%) and adtech company AppLovin (APP 543.29, +53.05, +10.82%) trade sharply higher, while the construction and facilities services provider EMCOR Group (EME 623.61, -1.79, -0.29%) sees price action respond in a more subdued fashion. 

The three names will replace MarketAxess (MKTX 186.10, -1.40, -0.75%), Caesars Entertainment (CZR 25.79, -0.55, -2.09%), and Enphase Energy (ENPH 38.35, -1.30, -3.28%) on the index prior to the open on September 22.
