[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.3%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.9%), and DJIA (-0.4%) trade in a relatively tight range as the session nears midday.
While eight S&P 500 sectors face losses, only the energy sector (-1.9%) has slipped more than 1.0%. The sector faces pressure as the price of crude oil has decreased $1.29 to $64.30 per barrel, a decrease of 2.0%.
Reuters reported that OPEC+ is considering an output hike at the Sunday meeting, which will feature eight OPEC+ nations.
The health care sector (-0.7%) faces the next widest loss as a majority of its components trade lower after finishing as just one of three S&P 500 sectors to close with a gain yesterday.
