[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.4%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%), and DJIA (-0.3%) are charting new session lows as the information technology sector (-0.9%) widens its loss for the day.
The sector faces a loss in its nine largest components, pushing the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (-0.5%) to its worst levels of the day.
Weakness in Alphabet (GOOG 249.02, -3.32, -1.32%) leads the communication services sector (-0.9%) to a similar loss, while the consumer discretionary sector (+0.2%) has seen the majority of its early gain eroded.
