It will be a relatively light day from an economic data release perspective, with the market set to receive the final S&P Global U.S. Manufacturing PMI for August at 9:45 a.m. ET, followed by the August ISM Manufacturing Index (Briefing.com Consensus 48.6%) and July Construction Spending (Briefing.com consensus +0.2%) reports at 10:00 a.m. ET.
In corporate news, shares of PepsiCo (155.28, +6.63, +4.5%) are higher in the pre-market after The Wall Street Journal reported that Elliott Investment Management is planning a major campaign to combat recent underperformance.
