[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.5%), and DJIA (-0.4%) trade in a relatively stable range.
Rivian Automotive (RIVN 13.13, -0.84, -6.01%) trades lower today after Reuters reported that the company is recalling over 24,000 2025 R1T and R1S vehicles in the U.S. due to a software defect in its Hands-Free Highway Assist system: the problem is that the driver assistance software may fail to correctly identify lead vehicles.
Meanwhile, its competitor Tesla (TSLA 391.66, +22.85, +6.20%) is one of the top gainers within the S&P 500.
In other corporate news, Uber's (UBER 96.20, +1.52, +1.61%) stock has not yet been affected by reports that the Justice Department is suing the company for denying rides to passengers with service dogs and wheelchairs.
