Smaller-cap names advance on August PPI report
Dow -104.90 at 45606.44, Nasdaq +112.83 at 21992.32, S&P +39.16 at 6551.77

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.6%) continues to chart record highs, while the Nasdaq Composite (+0.5) trades just off its own record high, and the DJIA (-0.1%) still holds a modest loss. 

Small-cap indices, such as the Russell 2000 (+0.4%) and S&P Mid Cap 400 (+0.4%), are also on the move today, invigorated by the August PPI report, which strengthens the market's expectation for at least 75-basis points worth of rate cuts by the end of the year. 

Elsewhere on the monetary policy front, CNBC reports that the Senate Banking Committee voted to advance Stephan Miran's Fed Governor nomination. 

In corporate news, Amazon (AMZN 233.61, -4.63, -1.94%) Ads and Netflix (NFLX 1259.37, -3.88, -0.31%) announced a partnership that provides advertisers using Amazon DSP with direct access to Netflix's premium ad inventory.
