Futures inch higher following earnings

Investors are currently perusing a sizable batch of earnings reports before today's opening bell, with little in the way of other notable developments so far.
President Trump is scheduled to make an announcement in the Oval Office at 4:30 PM ET, though the topic of the announcement has not yet been announced.
Additionally, the markets will hear from Fed Governor Lisa Cook (voting FOMC member), Boston Fed President Susan Collins (voting FOMC member), and San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly (non-voting FOMC member).
