Major averages improved from session lows
Dow -67.15 at 45498.08, Nasdaq +27.10 at 21615.85, S&P -2.28 at 6479.12

[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%) re-enters positive territory following an improvement in the information technology sector (+0.1%), while the S&P 500 returns to its flatline and the DJIA (-0.2%) still holds modest losses. 

NVIDIA (NVDA 178.94, -2.66, -1.47%) is up 1.0% from its session lows, which contributes to the PHLX Semiconductor Index now holding a 0.4% gain. 

Meanwhile, the health care (-0.7%) and consumer staples (-0.7%) sectors hold the widest losses so far today and for the week. 

The consumer staples sector faces losses among the vast majority of its components, the widest being in Hormel Foods (HRL 25.42, -3.60, -12.39%), which missed EPS expectations by $0.05, beat revenue expectations, and guided Q4 EPS below consensus.
