Technology sector improved

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are little changed from previous levels that keep them seated with modest losses. 

The information technology sector (flat) briefly entered positive territory, bringing the Nasdaq Composite (-0.2%) along, but both have since retreated below their flatlines. 

Microsoft (MSFT 506.54, +0.82, +0.16%) and NVIDIA (NVDA 175.67, +0.27, +0.15%) both trade slightly higher today, but chipmakers are still a point of relative weakness, with the PHLX Semiconductor Index down 0.3%. 

Apple (AAPL 225.30, -0.71, -0.31%) will increase the price of Apple TV+ to $12.99 a month from $9.99, according to Variety. 

Walt Disney's (DIS 116.30, -0.74, -0.63%) ESPN streaming service launched today at $29.99 per month, offering access to over 47,000 live events annually and positioning it as a leader in the sports streaming market. The service's debut coincides with a strategic overhaul of DIS's digital distribution, including plans to integrate Disney+ and Hulu into a unified platform by 2026, streamlining operations and enhancing subscriber retention through a comprehensive entertainment and sports offering.
