Subdued start after record setting week
Dow -57.87 at 44888.25, Nasdaq -26.81 at 21594.78, S&P -7.38 at 6442.42

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened in a subdued fashion this morning, with the S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite, and DJIA all down 0.1%. 

Five S&P 500 sectors trade in positive territory, led by the health care sector (+0.5%), which looks to expand upon last week's impressive rally. 

The information technology sector (+0.1%) has not yet been significantly moved by comments from OpenAI's Sam Altman in an interview with The Verge, in which Altman stated he believes that investors are overexcited about AI, according to CNBC. The PHLX Semiconductor Index sports a slight gain of 0.1%. 

Meanwhile, the communication services sector (-0.8%) is the top laggard, as Meta Platforms (META 760.94, -24.29, -3.09%) trades lower in the early going. 

Just released, the NAHB Housing Market Index for August decreased to 32 (Briefing.com consensus 34) from a prior level of 33.
