[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue their sideways drift, currently sitting in a mixed fashion.
A modest loss among the mega-cap cohort keeps the major averages from capturing gains so far. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF is down 0.3%, largely due to a loss in Meta Platforms (META 765.42, -19.81, -2.52%), as it is the only mega-cap name with a gain or loss wider than 1.0%.
Though not quite large enough to be considered mega-caps, there is a slate of large retailers set to report earnings this week.
Walmart (WMT 100.50, +0.50, +0.50%), Costco (COST 976.98, +4.94, +0.51%), and Target (TGT 105.53, +2.51, +2.44%) trade higher ahead of their earnings, contributing to a 0.8% gain in the SPDR S&P Retail ETF.
