Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are little changed from previous values amid a modestly weaker market. 

Seven S&P 500 sectors trade in negative territory, with the information technology sector (-0.8%) and utilities (-0.8%) sectors posting the widest losses. 

Decliners outpace advancers by a roughly 5-to-4 margin on the NYSE and a roughly 11-to-8 margin on the NASDAQ.

Stocks of all sizes are retreating, though larger names are faring slightly better. The Russell 2000 holds a loss of 0.6%, while the S&P Mid Cap 400 has retreated 0.4%, and the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF holds a similar loss of 0.4%.
