Airline stocks move higher
Dow +440.86 at 44415.95, Nasdaq +222.19 at 21606.20, S&P +56.12 at 6429.57

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue to chart fresh session highs that push the S&P 500 (+0.8%) and Nasdaq Composite (+1.0%) further into record territory.

Today's better-than-feared July CPI release provided a catalyst for early growth, with a lack of other developments keeping the market focused on its upward momentum.

Airline companies have benefitted from today's advance, as United Airlines (UAL 97.66, +8.33, +9.32%) and Delta Air Lines (DAL 58.20, +4.70, +8.79%) are the top-performing stocks within the S&P 500, while JetBlue Airways (JBLU 4.74, +0.46, +10.89%), American Airlines (AAL 12.74, +1.16, +10.06%), and Frontier Group Holdings (ULCC 3.91, +0.60, +18.13%) all trade higher as well.

Chipmakers have also broadened their early gains despite a subdued performance from NVIDIA (NVDA 182.46, +0.40, +0.22%), with the PHLX Semiconductor Index currently up 2.4%.
