[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 continues to track within a relatively tight range, currently up 0.2%
President Trump just announced via Truth Social that the Philippines will face a 25% tariff effective August 1, while Iraq and Libya will face a 30% tariff.
The announcement has had little effect on the market, as the major averages show stability under early session highs.
Mega-cap stocks continue to outperform, with particular strength in the communication services sector (+1.2%) coming from mega-cap gainers such as Alphabet (GOOG 178.38, +3.22, +1.8%) and Meta Platforms (META 734.69, +14.02, +2.0%)
