Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are hovering near their session highs that were reached shortly after the open, with the S&P 500 currently up 0.5%.

Mega-cap stocks are rebounding from yesterday's performance and have the Vanguard Mega Cap ETF up 1.1%.

The communication services sector (+1.6%) has emerged as the top performer so far due in part to its mega-cap components Alphabet (GOOG 179.98, +4.82, +2.8%) and Meta Platforms (META 733.95, +13.28, +1.8%). 

Thats not to say that small-cap and mid-caps are down, as the Russell 2000 (+0.5%) and the S&P Mid Cap 400 (+0.3%) are both up, but they currently trail the broader market.
