[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.2%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%) have slimmed their opening gains, while the DJIA (-0.4%) remains in negative territory.

The consumer discretionary sector (-0.9%) is the worst performer in the early going, with Tesla (TSLA 305.85, -26.71, -8.0%) facing pressure after the company reported EPS in-line, with an 11.8% decrease in revenues year-over-year and deliveries falling 13.5% in that same time span. Additionally, CEO Elon Musk warned of "a few rough quarters" ahead, citing the expiration of federal electric vehicle tax credits as a significant headwind.

Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG 46.50, -6.28, -11.9%) also faces early pressure following its earnings release, which saw the company report EPS in line, with revenues rising a slim 3.0% year-over-year, and issuing flat FY25 comparable sales guidance.

Elsewhere in the sector, Las Vegas Sands (LVS 50.52, +1.83, +3.8%) is the top gainer, boosted by an EPS beat of $0.26 and increased revenues.
