Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are holding onto their opening gains as nine sectors trade in positive territory. 

The industrials sector (+1.0%) is among the top performers, bolstered by a strong performance from GE Vernova (GEV 623.69, +74.70, +13.61%) after the company delivered an impressive beat-and-raise performance in 2Q25 fueled by robust demand for power and grid infrastructure systems. CEO Scott Strazik characterized the backdrop as an "investment supercycle" into reliable baseload power, grid infrastructure, and decarbonization solutions.

Lennox Int'l (LII 680.06, +60.09, +9.69%) is also trading sharply higher after beating EPS expectations by $0.96 and providing upside guidance. Lennox and GE Vernova are among the two largest gainers within the S&P 500 at this juncture. 

Elsewhere in the sector, RTX (RTX 151.23, +2.06, +1.38%) captures a nice gain following yesterday's earnings report.
