Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages trade near their best levels of the day as the Nasdaq Composite (+0.2%) extends further into positive territory, while the S&P 500 and DJIA trade flat.

The energy sector (-1.4%) is the worst performer so far today after finishing as last week's top-performing sector with a gain of 2.5%.

Crude oil prices are down $1.00 per barrel to $67.45, a decrease of 1.5%.

Meanwhile, the information technology sector (-0.3%) has shed some of its early losses after opening as the day's worst performer.
