Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages have risen slightly from their opening lows, with the S&P 500 now down just 0.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite and DJIA are both unchanged for the day.

There is mixed action across the sectors, as six now trade in the green for the day. 

The communication services sector (+0.5%) is the best performer so far, due in part to early strength from Netflix (NFLX 1264.44, +19.34, +1.55%) ahead of its earnings release on Thursday. 

Shares of Meta Platforms (META 722.40, +4.89, +0.68%) are also trading higher after it was announced that the company has acquired Play AI, which it hopes will strategically enhance its voice AI capabilities, positioning the company to deliver more immersive and personalized user experiences across its platforms and wearables.
